The
water breathes
Heavily
Like me
I’m sitting in a big boat
Heavy
with doors of steal
It should feel safe
With doors to open
It should be were I belong
My journey for the horizon
Drifting calm and steady
Floating on the surface
I’m seeing the stream
The path the boat has left
Feeling the waves hit the boat
I’m amazed
That water can make me go up and down
As if I am leaning my head
On someone’s belly
Feeling the lungs move upwards
Not sinking
But surviving
The water breathes
Heavily
Like me
When a big boat won’t leave my chest.
